The Causes of Rhuematoid Arthritis
72The factors that can lead to Rhuematoid Arthritis
Determining the exact cause of Rhuematoid Arthritis can be difficult. But there are various factors which contribute to the progress of the disease. Onset of the disease could be from one or more of the following factors:
· Genetics: The role of genes in the disease is not very clear at present but most researchers do believe on the existence of such a link.
· Age: Cartilage becomes brittle with age and the body also loses its repairing capacities. Chances of arthritis increase with age.
· Being Overweight: is a contributing factor as joint damage is partly dependent on the load the joint has to support.
· Previous injury: can cause damage to smooth working of a joint. An example is tibial plateau fracture, where broken bits of bone enter the cartilage of the knee joint.
· Occupational Hazards: Specific working conditions increase chances of Arthritis. Primarily it is associated with high stress jobs such as assembly line workers and heavy construction industry workers.
· Illness / Infection: Joint infections (septic joint), multiple episodes of gout, or certain other medical conditions, can lead to occurrence of arthritis.
The potential necessity of exercise is often overlooked in the modern world. Many people in pursuit of career and other goals give a very low priority to make sure the body gets its due share of movement everyday. Why is exercise so important?
Nature never designed the human body for sedentary purposes. It was originally designed to carry heavy loads, run short distances and walk miles. The recent technological explosion in the last century has in every aspect diminished the physical role of body in day to day activities. To carry weight now trolleys and motorized elevators are used and instead of walking even for a few hundred meters automobiles are used. The abrupt jump has put an immense strain on the evolution pattern of the body. This particular reason is responsible for most of the diseases prevalent in society: Heart attacks, diabetes and obesity. Apart from being directly related to many diseases, lack of exercise is also responsible for a number of emotional and psychological disorders.
To understand the importance of exercise let us take the example of a car. A car judiciously used would serve till a long time .However if a car is not oiled and never used , it would rust and its parts would get jammed. Similarly the human body also needs some amount of basic movement and strain for which it has been originally designed by nature.
Exercise works by keeping muscles, tissues, bones and other body functions healthy. A very important function of exercise is connected with the functioning of the brain. Research has shown that the ‘high feeling’ associated post exercise is due to the release of mood enhancing substances in the body called endomorphins . People who do regular exercise are more positive and respond to stress and strain conditions in a much better way and it will definitely aid with Rhuematoid arthritis pain relief.
Exercise helps maintain healthy and strong muscles, joint mobility, flexibility, endurance, and helps control weight. Exercise does not mean a strenuous Olympic fitness program effort but a daily moderate level of activity which keeps the body healthy and full of vitality. Exercise is critical factor in a successful Rhuematoid Arthritis pain management program.
